South Africa has a reputation for being a dangerous country … Why? It is however the first tourist destination in Black Africa !
Today we notice that most people who speak of Africa in general, paint a rather dark portrait. In most cases, viewers will hear that Africa is synonymous with war, poverty and disease. The Rille Eyes Solidarity team has been able to visit and live in different African countries on numerous occasions. The conclusion is clear ! Africa is a majestic continent with a very rich tourist heritage. Those who really know this part of the globe will tell you about its warm people, the diversity of its landscapes and its fauna and especially the joy of life of Africans, despite the challenges they face every day.
If we focus on South Africa, it is a country with a long history and not the most trivial. This of course affects the daily life of some South Africans. But that does not mean that the country is not trying to get out of it and that it is dangerous. It must be recognized that through the media, we visualize sometimes precarious situations which can dampen the enthusiasm of certain travelers. However, you have to keep your eyes open and ask the right questions. South Africa is a safe destination provided you follow certain rules.
Rille Eyes Solidarity’s mission is also to combat prejudice and go beyond clichés. We want to support the local population in their development while sharing with them their culture, their history and their daily life. Our goal is not to bring you to a risk zone. On the contrary, our role is to make you discover South Africa with a real eye. We do not want to sell you the dream and do not pretend to say that South Africa is a perfect country and without any risk since it has its strengths but also its weaknesses. Rille Eyes Solidarity does not want to sell dreams in this way. We just hope to give you the opportunity to have an experience for yourself and exchange with the local population to realize that there are indeed significant disparities in this country certainly, but that it is quite possible to realize his dream in South Africa and to share unforgettable moments with the population Home.

Rille Eyes Solidarity chose to set up in South Africa because we discovered that this rainbow nation had many really impressive facets. We wanted to share this feeling with you and give you an opportunity to live a unique experience in an authentic country . The diversity and richness of its heritage make it an essential and surprising destination.
South Africa is mainly known for its safaris and its history intriguing linked to apartheid. South Africa, especially Johannesburg, can have a bad image when it comes to personal security. However, Rille Eyes Solidarity organizes its trips outside the so-called “sensitive” areas in order to ensure optimal security for its travelers. To do this, we work in safe and secure places and sometimes with local guides (depending on demand), which promotes integration with residents. Regarding solidarity projects, we work in secure communities involved in our approach. In addition, the partners with whom we collaborate and the people of South Africa are truly committed to welcoming travelers to the joy and good humor .
When planning your trip, we will advise you on what you can do and what to avoid doing.
Not necessarily… A tailor-made trip is a stay organized by a travel agency responding precisely to the request of its client. To do so, an exchange between the two parties makes it possible to best advise the traveler in order to understand his needs and expectations. Depending on the budget allocated by the latter, the agency will imagine and create with its partners, an itinerary specially designed for him.
The advantage of tailor-made travel is to decide what you want to do and how to organize your stay. You can opt for a departure at any time of the year and not be constrained by fixed departure dates imposed by a tour operator. We can also choose the traveling companions who will be happy to accompany us during our expedition. Last but not least, we can select what we will do on site according to our budget and not be resigned to doing activities or visits that do not suit us. Rille Eyes Solidarity aims to make you discover the wonders of South Africa, according to your budget.
To date, Rille Eyes Solidarity does not support the booking of international airline tickets. We do not have the IATA accreditation that would allow us to do so. However, we can tell you the names of the airlines that serve the country. On the other hand, the agency can take care of booking internal flights.
One would tend to believe that South Africa is an English-speaking country, which is not completely false … However, it may be useful to remember that South Africa is a multilingual country . Today, the South African Constitution recognizes eleven official languages (Afrikaans, English, Ndebele, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, Tshivenda, Xhosa, Xitsonga, Zulu, Swazi). Even if more than 85% of the South African population speaks and understands English, it is quite possible to go to villages or sites where the local population will only speak their dialect. In these situations, only natives of the region can help and support you during your experience.
In order to fully benefit from the discovery of new culture and to exchange with the inhabitants, Rille Eyes Solidarity is in partnership with local guides and French-speaking guides. This makes it possible to generate economic spinoffs for the locals but also to facilitate your immersion, by discovering from the inside what makes up the rainbow nation. So if you don’t speak English no problem, we will take care of it for you!
In South Africa, you can find all types of accommodation ranging from small, well-located charming hotels to ” Private Reserves “, through traditional and atypical accommodation such as the colorful houses of the Malaysian neighborhood in Cape Town or the huts of the Lesotho.
As part of your tailor-made trip, Rille Eyes Solidarity offers you a complete and quality range so that everyone can determine their choice of accommodation according to their budget and aspirations. It will also be possible if you wish to stay with a local .
To best support you during your getaway to South Africa, we suggest that you be guided by a local guide, French or not, depending on your level of English language. During certain visits, a local guide will facilitate your immersion by accompanying you to the host population. For certain activities, a specific guide will organize them so that you can fully enjoy them.
But it is not compulsory to have a guide because it depends on his itinerary. It can sometimes be strongly recommended to be accompanied by a guide to better understand the local culture of a region. Depending on the program you have chosen, you will decide whether you want to be accompanied by a guide or not.
South Africa is indeed a child-friendly destination. Rille Eyes Solidarity adapts to the ages of your children to offer you the most appropriate program with complete peace of mind. Many places are fitted out and equipped to receive children. However, there are still establishments which only accept children from a certain age. Do not worry about it, we are here to advise you the best and make you enjoy a unique experience in the best possible conditions and safety.
Rille Eyes Solidarity organizes safe trips and pays particular attention to all of its customers, including children. It is quite possible to make a solidarity trip with children. Depending on your wishes and the program you choose, we will tell you the minimum age of children if there is one. Some organizations require a minimum level of English in order to be able to help the management team in their daily tasks and therefore cannot accommodate children under the age of 16 (to be confirmed according to language level). Other structures accept to receive children from 5 years old (schooling) so that they can exchange, communicate and sometimes carry out activities with other children of the same age.
Rille Eyes Solidarity puts at your disposal all its expertise as a destination specialist to offer you the most suitable itinerary.
Rille Eyes Solidarity helps several structures in various provinces of South Africa. Therefore, we support different solidarity projects depending on the associations. We have voluntarily chosen to help small structures in order to be able to concretize our actions quickly.
So Rille Eyes Solidarity offers to support projects related to education, early childhood, animation, cultural debates, sports and artistic workshops, prevention, training for adults, IT (more at the level of initiation), protection of animals, help in the daily tasks of the organism or the village, such as preparing meals. There are also construction, renovation, recycling projects, as well as craft or agricultural production.
Certain associative partners have always managed on their own and have existed for over 30 years. Our approach is therefore new to them and what they are looking for today is stability and better organization in order to continue to be able to welcome young or old people to help them in any way whatsoever. It is in this spirit that they would also like to receive travelers experienced in certain fields to help them improve the progress of some projects sometimes initiated at the request of the children themselves! The role of Rille Eyes Solidarity is therefore not to replace them, but to provide resources and / or skills so that the association can continue its activity once visitors have left the premises.
Rille Eyes Solidarity supports different projects which for the most part do not require any particular skills since they are always supervised by coordinators and we act in support. For very specific projects, it must be recognized that skills or knowledge can be a significant advantage. However, we must not confuse solidarity travel with volunteering and a humanitarian mission that require special skills.
Within the framework of our tailor-made packages, our role is to exchange with you in order to be able to orient you towards the solidarity project which would suit you best according to your skills and / or your physical capacities. Passion and motivation are also factors that we take into account to validate with you the participation in a solidarity project.
One of the main concerns of Rille Eyes Solidarity is to be able to participate equitably in local economic development. Thus, we ourselves select the projects and organizations that we want to support. These are chosen according to criteria very specific response to all the charter and the values of Rille Eyes Solidarity.
A regular monitoring is implemented with associative structures to ensure the need of our interventions and especially the distribution and use of the gifts of travelers according to pre-defined projects. An end of project report is systematically sent to all those who have participated in a project in order to obtain proof in support that their action has made this project possible and has not funded anything else. Except in a case where we realize that another priority project could be set up. In this case, you will be kept informed.
You are not working, you are Off! Rille Eyes Solidarity suggests that you travel useful. Solidarity tourism helps, not works in the place of volunteers or local workers. We invite you to discover a country differently by helping local people in a more concrete way. You do not pay to work during your vacation because the goal is really to live an experience, to share with the locals by looking from the inside how South Africa is. Rille Eyes Solidarity invites you to give your time and transmit your skills and / or knowledge in order to help the host populations to carry out projects for the future.
Your trip essentially finances all the logistics and supervision relating to the various services you have chosen (accommodation, transport, meals, guide, activity, etc.). Part of the amount of your trip is indeed donated to an association for the realization of a project and this participation will depend on the cost of your trip. It will therefore be taken into account from the start and you will not have to add additional costs once on site (depending on the formula chosen). If we offer you to participate in the realization of a project, it is to give you the opportunity to see what is really made of your donation but also to live a unique and authentic adventure in immersion.
