Even if more than 85% of the South African population speaks and understands English, it is quite possible to go to villages or sites where the local population will only speak their dialect. In these situations, only natives of the region can help and support you during your experience.

What types of solidarity projects can we support in South Africa?

Rille Eyes Solidarity helps several structures in various provinces of South Africa. Therefore, we support different solidarity projects depending on the associations. We have voluntarily chosen to help small structures in order to be able to concretize our actions quickly.

So Rille Eyes Solidarity offers to support projects related to education, early childhood, animation, cultural debates, sports and artistic workshops, prevention, training for adults, IT (more at the level of initiation), protection of animals, help in the daily tasks of the organism or the village, such as preparing meals. There are also construction, renovation, recycling projects, as well as craft or agricultural production.

Certain associative partners have always managed on their own and have existed for over 30 years. Our approach is therefore new to them and what they are looking for today is stability and better organization in order to continue to be able to welcome young or old people to help them in any way whatsoever. It is in this spirit that they would also like to receive travelers experienced in certain fields to help them improve the progress of some projects sometimes initiated at the request of the children themselves! The role of Rille Eyes Solidarity is therefore not to replace them, but to provide resources and / or skills so that the association can continue its activity once visitors have left the premises.

Do you need special skills or knowledge?

Rille Eyes Solidarity supports different projects which for the most part do not require any particular skills since they are always supervised by coordinators and we act in support. For very specific projects, it must be recognized that skills or knowledge can be a significant advantage. However, we must not confuse solidarity travel with volunteering and a humanitarian mission that require special skills.

Within the framework of our tailor-made packages, our role is to exchange with you in order to be able to orient you towards the solidarity project which would suit you best according to your skills and / or your physical capacities. Passion and motivation are also factors that we take into account to validate with you the participation in a solidarity project.

How can we be sure that associations are using money wisely?

One of the main concerns of Rille Eyes Solidarity is to be able to participate equitably in local economic development. Thus, we ourselves select the projects and organizations that we want to support. These are chosen according to criteria very specific response to all the charter and the values of Rille Eyes Solidarity.

A regular monitoring is implemented with associative structures to ensure the need of our interventions and especially the distribution and use of the gifts of travelers according to pre-defined projects. An end of project report is systematically sent to all those who have participated in a project in order to obtain proof in support that their action has made this project possible and has not funded anything else. Except in a case where we realize that another priority project could be set up. In this case, you will be kept informed.

Why pay to work while on vacation?

You are not working, you are Off! Rille Eyes Solidarity suggests that you travel useful. Solidarity tourism helps, not works in the place of volunteers or local workers. We invite you to discover a country differently by helping local people in a more concrete way. You do not pay to work during your vacation because the goal is really to live an experience, to share with the locals by looking from the inside how South Africa is. Rille Eyes Solidarity invites you to give your time and transmit your skills and / or knowledge in order to help the host populations to carry out projects for the future.

Your trip essentially finances all the logistics and supervision relating to the various services you have chosen (accommodation, transport, meals, guide, activity, etc.). Part of the amount of your trip is indeed donated to an association for the realization of a project and this participation will depend on the cost of your trip. It will therefore be taken into account from the start and you will not have to add additional costs once on site (depending on the formula chosen). If we offer you to participate in the realization of a project, it is to give you the opportunity to see what is really made of your donation but also to live a unique and authentic adventure in immersion.
